 Cactus Flower (or "Cat" as we call her) is the sister of Sweetpea and Cosmos.  She is the lighter of the two girls, being a light tan/cream color.  Our best assessment is that she is a Toy Poodle/Chihuahua mix.  Cat has a medium-length curly coat & she’s a cutie-pie.  She can be a sight to see, as sometimes her ears are up and sometimes not!!!

Currently, Cat is about 7 lbs.  Like her siblings, we expect she will be small in size when full grown.  For that reason, we are seeking a home without very young children. 

In terms of personality, Cat is lovable and cuddly.  She likes belly rubs, hugs and kisses.  Of course, she also loves to play.  She gets along well with her siblings and the other dogs in her foster home; and she loves being outside enjoying the sun, exploring or playing with her brother and sister.

If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Cactus Flower – for her whole life – no matter what may lie ahead in yours, please register on www.safeatlast.net (click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage).  When you receive your password on your email account, then log back on to our website with your username and password to complete the on-line adoption application (click Forms/Applications on the left-hand side of our homepage).  Once we have your SAFE AT LAST adoption application, we will contact you by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process.  Our process is very straightforward but does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $ 375, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

Cactus Flower and her siblings are being fostered in a private home; we do not have a centralized facility.  THEREFORE, YOU CANNOT MEET THE PUPS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR ADOPTION, & YOU CANNOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ANY OF OUR ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE SAFE AT LAST ADOPTION APPLICATION.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT THE APPLICATIONS OF OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING PETFINDER, ADOPT-A-PET, ALLPAWS, ETC.  Delay in submitting the Safe at Last adoption application will put you at a disadvantage, since we review applications in the order received.

FINALLY, ADOPTERS ARE REQUIRED TO COME TO THE FOSTER HOME (IN MIDDLEBURGH, NY) TO COMPLETE THE ADOPTION.  WE DO NOT DELIVER OR SHIP OUR RESCUE ANIMALS.
