Meet beautiful Sadie, who came to us all the way from KY.  Sadie is a sweet, happy Bassett Hound mix (possibly with Black and Tan Coonhound or Beagle).  Presently (8/15/16), she is about 8 months of age and weighs 30 lbs. 

Sadie is a very affectionate, lovable, social girl.  She loves to ride in the car and will sit in the back and chew on her cow hoof.  She is very social and loves other dogs of all sizes and shapes – and she is great with puppies too!  She likes to play catch with balls or toys and loves to be with her humans.

Sadie has been to see our vets for her general wellness checkup, as well to check out the cause of a limp she developed on her right front leg.  She has been x-rayed and examined thoroughly by our vets; and they believe she is suffering from "growing pains," which is not uncommon in certain breeds (including Bassett Hounds).  Sadie’s examinations have revealed no visible injuries, and she has shown no pain response whatsoever.  Our vets’ assessment is that this is a growth-spurt issue that is a temporary condition which Sadie will outgrow as she matures.  Per our vets’ advice, we are presently treating her with an anti-inflammatory, and she will be re-checked after she completes that regiment.  She will be monitored by our vets, and if she needs additional diagnostics (such as further x-rays) or treatment, we are committed to providing that for her.   

Sadie’s limp does not slow her down in the least.  She is active and loves playing and exploring outside.  She loves walking on a leash and visiting folks at our local Agway.  Sadie is a wonderful, sweet, personable young girl.  She also happens to be potty-trained, spayed, and up-to-date on her shots.  So, she is all ready for her forever home.
