Mr. Gene Kelly came to us from Ohio, along with his sisters Mitzi Gaynor and Cyd Charisse.  Gene is the only boy in this litter of three and, like his name sake, is full of personality and spunk.  He is very fearless and when you're not looking he's sure to be doing acrobatic dance moves!

 

He is blond long-coated Chihuahua mix with some black markings.  He, like his sisters, is too cute for words.  He weighs around 3#'s and will be a small adult.

 

He loves to run and play outside and gets along well with other dogs.  He likes to cuddle and give puppy kisses and snuggles and explore and play with his toys.

 

Since Gene is such a small pup (and will be a rather small adult), we are seeking a forever home without young children.

If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Gene Kelly – for his whole life – no matter what may lie ahead in yours, please register on www.safeatlast.net (click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage).  When you receive your password on your email account, then log back on to our website with your username and password to complete the online adoption application (click Forms/Applications on the left-hand side of our homepage).  Once we have your SAFE AT LAST adoption application, we will contact you by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process.  Our process is very straightforward but does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $ 375, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

Gene and his sisters are being fostered in a private home; we do not have a centralized facility.  THEREFORE, YOU CANNOT MEET THE PUPS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR ADOPTION, & YOU CANNOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ANY OF OUR ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE SAFE AT LAST ADOPTION APPLICATION.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT THE APPLICATIONS OF OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING PETFINDER, ADOPT-A-PET, ALLPAWS, ETC.  Delay in submitting the Safe at Last adoption application will put you at a disadvantage, since we review applications in the order received.

FINALLY, ADOPTERS ARE REQUIRED TO COME TO THE FOSTER HOME (IN MIDDLEBURGH, NY) TO COMPLETE THE ADOPTION.  WE DO NOT DELIVER OR SHIP OUR RESCUE ANIMALS.
