Meet sweetheart Hickory who, along with brother Linden, came to us from our rescue friends in West Virginia.   Both of these boys came from a bad hoarding situation, and they had demodectic mange when they first made their way to rescue.  Luckily for these boys, the wonderful folks at One by One Animal Advocates (in WV) took great care of them, and they are both looking and feeling terrific.  They are happy and healthy and ready for their new life.  And, we have promised them a bright future in homes where they will be loved forever. 

Our best assessment (no guarantee) is that Linden is a lab/bassett mix (as he’s a bit of a “low rider”), and Hickory is a cattle dog or kelpie mix.  Right now (8/13/19), these boys are about 6 months old and weigh about 32-35 lbs.   They are neutered, up-to-date on their shots and flea/tick preventative, and are all ready for their new life.

In terms of personality, Linden is a very happy boy. He’s very playful and energetic! He also loves to cuddle and seems really happy to be a lap dog.   

As for Hickory, upon first meeting, he is not as outgoing as his brother.  It takes him just a little bit of time to warm up; but once he does, he, too, is a love-bug.  Hickory loves to play with his brother Linden, though Hickory isn’t quite as energetic as Linden.  Hickory is a very sweet, loving boy. 

Both of these boys are also great with the crate. They nap in it during the day and sleep in it at night with no problems.  They are in need of leash training and potty training, and foster mom Pam is working with them on that.

It would be wonderful if we could adopt these boys together, as they really love each other.   But we will consider adopting them out separately in the right circumstances.
