Meet adorable little Casper, all whopping 9 pounds of him! 

Casper just came to us from WV.  While he was very scared when he first arrived, he has adjusted beautifully.  As his foster mom says, after just 3 days, “he owns the place”!!  But, it does appear that when Casper goes to a new situation, he is fearful at first... it just takes him a little time to adjust -- so prospective adopters need to be aware of this -- that upon first meeting, you will not see the real Casper; but, with a little time, you will be rewarded with a wonderful, fun, well-adjusted, low maintenance (and absolutely adorable) little man.

From his paperwork, Casper is estimated to be about 2 yrs old.  Our best assessment is that he is a Chihuahua mix, possibly with Jack Russell Terrier or Corgi. 

Casper’s foster mom tells us that Casper is a delight.  He is content to sleep in bed next to her while she works.  He is happy to play as well and loves cuddling.  He seems to be fully house trained (though he goes outside on a very regular schedule with the other dog in the household) – but no accidents so far. 

Casper enjoys sitting outside on the deck in the sun on his own.  He sleeps through the night without waking up super early to go out.  He has no trouble in the crate.  He dances on two legs – positively adorable. He loves to be held and goes completely docile in your arms.  It appears he was well loved and cared for by someone.  Anyone who gets this boy will be very lucky to have him, and we think he'll be happy in any setting as long as he's loved.

Please be advised that you cannot meet Casper until you have been approved to adopt.  Also, Casper is being fostered in Manchester Center, VT. Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption.
