Meet Stark, a gorgeous Great Dane mix pup, who is looking for his forever home.

Here is what Stark’s foster mom has to say about him:

“More than just a pretty face, Stark is a sweet, gentle, calm, and loving puppy.  He is a total people-pleaser -- just wants to sit at your feet (or in your lap if you'll let him) and be rubbed.  Super easy-going, not at all needy, very happy to lie down and chew a bone, or chill on the couch.  He's happiest just being by your side.  He does excellently well in his crate and already goes into it on his own to take a nap.  We are still working on potty training, and we are on day two with no accidents, so making progress.  It's clear he would do well as the solo dog as he adores people and is very compliant. He plays well with my male dog, but he has a confident, strong personality, and has been assertive with both food and toys.  If he does go to a home with another dog, I think he'd do best in a home with a submissive dog where he will be allowed to be the boss.  He's picking up quickly on commands, and I think he'll be easy to train as he's so anxious to please.”  For more pics, go to:

If you are interested in committing to Stark – to provide him a loving, caring home for his whole life – please register on our website, www.safeatlast.net (by clicking Register on the left-hand side of our homepage).  Once you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the Safe at Last online adoption application (by clicking Forms/Applications on the left-hand side of our homepage).   If, after preliminary review of your application, your home appears to be a good match for Stark, a volunteer will be in touch to commence the review process.  Our process is straightforward but does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $425, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

Stark is being fostered in Manchester Center, Vermont.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption. 

Finally, you must submit the Safe at Last online adoption application and be approved prior to meeting Stark.  If you do not submit the adoption application, we cannot consider you.  No exceptions.
