I, Bella's caretaker & Dog Control Officer in Schoharie County NY, am preemptively sharing Bella, who is looking for a foster or adoptive home.

Bella is a 4-5 year old, female,  Akita/Boxer mix.  She was just rescued locally after her "owner" pulled his trailer away from the property he was renting & told his landlord that he was intentionally abandoning her... 

The only information that was able to be procured was her name.  Understandably so she is confused and nervous about the situation.  But in just two days with a little reassurance she has come right out of her shell with me.  Unfortunately she does not appear to be good with other dogs or cats, so she will not be able to stay in foster care here.  She will be staying at the kennels of the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley-the local no-kill facility-where she will hopefully find her new family.  In the hopes that her kennel stay can be brief, I would like to post her here to gain exposure and possibly find her a foster or forever home sooner.

As stated above she doesn't do well with other dogs or cats.  She might be okay in a home with dog savvy older children (say 10+) who understand that she is a bit nervous at first and needs a slower intro.  Once she knows you're a safe person who won't hurt her this girl is so loving!  She's quiet as a mouse in her kennel and respectful of fences; she probably do very well with a fenced-in yard.  She seems to be housebroken as she always uses the outside portion of her kennel, but we can't guarantee.

She hasn't officially been weighed yet but she's approximately 70-75lbs
