Sonny came to us from our wonderful rescue friends in NC.  Sonny was found severely starved and suffering from burns on all his feet.  He was 25 lbs when found -- and he should be at least double that weight -- his picture upon intake at the NC shelter is below.  

When asked if we could take him, we said yes immediately.  How could we say no... it hurt to look at him...

Working with our NC rescue partners, Sonny was sent to our amazing vet for evaluation & vetting.  There, beyond getting great medical care, Sonny met a wonderful vet tech who fell in love with him & agreed to foster him for us.  In her care, Sonny positively blossomed.  In a week, he gained much need weight -- up to 33 lbs (and climbing) -- and from his "after" pic (posted as his main rescue photo), you can see from Sonny's smile that he thinks he is in heaven.  And, yes, he is.  Even better, this is where Sonny will stay for all of his days.  Foster mom Emma has become Sonny's permanent mom.  And, so, Sonny has gone from hell to heaven on Earth.
