Meet our 007 Litter!  These gorgeous babies came to us from our rescue partners in North Carolina.  The mom of these babies (who is pictured below) appears to be a flat-coated retriever mix.  There appear to be different dads – POSSIBLY (NO GUARANTEE) Great Pyr for the fluffy white pups, and possibly Chow for the fawn pups.  Right now (11/22/20), the pups are about 10 to 11 weeks old.  We anticipate, THOUGH CANNOT GUARANTEE, these pups will be large, possibly extra-large, when full-grown.  Currently, they weigh between 10 and 13 lbs.

When these pups first came into foster care, they were on the shy side, but quickly warmed up to their foster parents.  They play great together and love to be outside exploring the yard and playing in leaves.  They are happy little souls with every-wagging upright little tails.  As puppies go, they have relatively laid back temperaments.  Some of them can be a little vocal in their crates before settling down; but they settle down just fine.  It does seem that with new situations, it takes them a little bit of time to adjust; then, they warm up quickly.  They are smart, clean pups - they learn quickly & are doing well with potty training.

In terms of what we know so far on individual personality:

Miss Money Penny is a gentle little girl.  While she enjoys exploring and playing with her siblings, she often prefers sitting very close to her people.  She is a sweetheart & totally steals her foster mom’s heart every time she puts her little paw up to touch foster mom, asking for some loving.

James Bond is the biggest of the litter & what a handsome boy he is!  He has the tiniest hint of a white smudge on his little nose.  He loves playing in the leaves and exploring in the yard.  He and his sister Money Penny look the most like their mom.

Miss Honey Ryder was shy upon arrival, but soon became all full of wiggles, wanting loving from her foster mom and dad.  She loves playing with her siblings and exploring the outdoors, including those leaf piles!  Honey and her brother Felix have extremely thick coats, characteristic of Chow… but we cannot say that is the breed mix.  We simply do not know.

Felix Leiter is a handsome man, who was also shy upon arrival.  He is a bit of a “talker” at times but is a sweet little fella.  He loves to explore the yard and play with his siblings.  He warms up just fine if given a little bit of time to check things out and know he is safe and loved.  He, like sister Honey, has a very thick coat & enjoys playing outdoors in the cool air.

Miss Domino Vitale is a gorgeous doll-baby, who we think might be mixed with Great Pry (or another large fluffy breed).  She was the friendliest upon arrival and not vocal in her crate.  She is a happy pup who loves playing with her sibs, exploring the outdoors and getting attention from her foster parents.  Since Miss Domino has “come into her own,” she has become the voice of the pack, letting you know when she is wanting something!!

Sir Frederick Gray is a handsome boy, who we believe might have Great Pyr in the mix (again, best guess only, no guarantee).  Once Sir Fred had settled in and was feeling comfortable, he was all ready for lots of belly rubs.  He, like the other pups in this litter, loves exploring & playing.

Q-Major Boothroyd is another stunning pup who we believe may have Great Pyr in the mix.  This sweet fella was the most fearful upon first arrival but is coming around just fine.  The Major truly appears to love the company of other dogs.  We think it gives him a feeling of confidence.  This young man will warm up to his new people and love them forever -- he is a sweet soul.

We are learning more about these pups as they settle in and their personalities emerge.  We will provide more information during the interview stage of the application process.

TO PURSUE ADOPTION, REGISTER ON www.safeatlast.net.  Then, after you receive your password, FILL OUT THE SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once we have your application, IF WE FEEL YOU ARE A POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCH, we will contact you by e-mail to schedule the phone interview.  The review process is straightforward but involves the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  AN ADOPTION FEE OF $425 (AND A REFUNDABLE $35 SPAY/NEUTER DEPOSIT, required by NYS law) ALSO APPLY.

YOU CANNOT MEET THE PUPS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.
