Meet sweet Tobias.  Tobias is a lovely 7-year-old husky mix who is looking for a family to love him and dote on him for the rest of his life.

Prior to coming to us, Tobias had lived with a family in NC, and, due to circumstances at home, these folks were no longer able to properly care for him.  So, they did the responsible thing -- they got Tobias updated on his medical/vetting and got him into rescue.  When we saw this sweet young senior needing a place, we just had to say yes.  Just look at that sweet face of his!!

Tobias has settled into his foster home very well.  He is potty trained, and he does not destroy things.  He has little (to no) interest in toys (likely because he never had any).  He enjoys bopping around the yard and lounging on the couch or in his bed.  As for cats, on his own, he is fine with kitties.  When the other dog in his foster home starts to pay attention to the cats or attempts to chase them, Tobias reacts as well -- but he responds immediately to "Tobias, No"  from his foster parents.  And, he is just fine with the other dogs in the household.

We have already had Tobias to our vet for an exam and wellness checkup.  When he arrived, he had a cut on his paw, and that has been taken care of already.  Our vet did find that he has an eye condition (in his left eye) called ectopic cilia - which means that his eyelashes are in the wrong place.  Correcting this condition requires specialty surgery, and that is scheduled for Feb 4th.  This beautiful boy has many years of wonderful life ahead of him - and we want him to be comfortable and well, to be able to live that life to the fullest.  (Also, getting this surgery done should not impair the timing of Tobias's adoption, so long as the adoptive family is willing to follow through with the necessary appointments.)

Please be advised, you cannot meet Tobias until you have been approved to adopt.  We cannot consider you until you have submitted the Safe At Last adoption application.  Delay in submitting your application will put you at a disadvantage relative to other potentially qualified applicants.

Finally, Tobias is being fostered in the Cobleskill NY area.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to meet Toby & complete the adoption.  Also, all COVID-19 protocols (including mask) must be observed.
