Master Beckley (or "Beck" as he is fondly called by his foster family) is a 4-yr old small Wire Terrier mix, possibly some Jack Russell. 

Beck is a sort of "special needs" boy, as he was born with luxating patellas on both of his hind legs.  What this means is that he walks like a "crab" on his hind legs – so, he definitely has a “unique” gait.  But, this does not slow him down at all.  He runs and plays and does just fine.  As he gets older, he will likely develop arthritis in his rear legs sooner than a dog without this condition.

This being said, Beck is a very sweet, happy and lovable boy.  He particularly loves women.  With men, it can take him some time to warm up to them, but it really depends.  In his original foster home, he was fine with his foster dad (who is 69), but Beck seems to have a trust problem with younger males.

As noted, Beckley adores women, and, as you can see in some of his pictures, he loves his sweaters.  He actually prefers to wear outfits as not!!!  He sleeps with his foster Grandmother and gets along well with the other dogs in the house (a Cattle Dog and a very large English Bulldog/Am. Staff Terrier). 

Beck is about 90% house trained, as the cold weather/snow is hard on him to go outside.  However, his foster Mom does make sure he goes out on a regular basis.

Beck is a wonderful little man who needs a person who is willing to dote on him and love him for who the sweet, affectionate little guy that he is.  We believe he would do best in a household with women only, or an older couple.  Please consider making this sweet boy become a cherished member of your home.

Finally, Beckley is being fostered in the Oneonta/Morris NY area.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption.  Adopters are also required to adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols (including mask) when at the foster home.
