Iris is a young adult girl, about 1 yr... Our best assessment, NO GUARANTEE is that she is a Shepherd/Carolina Dog mix.  Right now, she weighs in at about 60 lbs -- so she is on the upper end of medium/lower end of large in size.  She is reddish/tan in color, short coated and has an absolutely wonderful disposition.  

 

Iris came to us in January 2021, pregnant, and she had her 8 babies on February 4th, 2021.  Throughout all this time, Iris has demonstrated a wonderful temperament/disposition, not only with the people in the household, but with the other animals as well (dogs & cats).  (With poultry - chickens, ducks -- she has shown a bit more interest lately, since she is not nursing her pups -- so, that is something a prospective adopter would need to consider in terms of safeguarding/training.) 

 

Iris is also totally housetrained and loves being outside running, playing and exploring. 

Iris adores her humans, and does not seem to meet a stranger she doesn't like.  She is a wonderful, loving and sweet girl, but she is still young & a pup at heart.   She does very well on a leash; but if she sees something that really interests her, she will pull, and, so, she needs work on this.

Iris is a very loving, special young lady.  We are seeking a home for her where her family will shower her with lots of love and will want to take her walking, hiking & engaging in family activities.

Iris is being fostered in Worcester NY (Otsego County).  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption.  ALL COVID PROTOCOLS MUST BE STRICTLY OBSERVED, INCLUDING MASK.
