Meet sweet Onyx!  Onyx - along with her 7 babies (the "Gems") (who are also available for adoption) - came to us from our rescue friends in NC.  Onyx is a super sweet, social lady who is very much ready to leave motherhood behind her and begin a new & wonderful life with her forever family.  Onyx is some type of terrier mix (with what we have no idea).  Right now, she is about 16 lbs and needs to gain a few more pounds.  We believe her ideal weight will be around 22 lbs or so.  Onyx is doing terrific in foster care, where she is being fostered with several other dogs, some larger, some smaller than she. Onyx will make a wonderful companion for some lucky family.

After you receive your password, please COMPLETE THE SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION. (Click Forms/Applications on the lefthand side of the homepage.)  Once we have your application, IF WE FEEL YOU ARE A POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCH, we will contact you by e-mail to schedule the phone interview.  So, please check your spam.  Our review process is straightforward but involves the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  AN ADOPTION FEE OF $425 (AND A REFUNDABLE $35 SPAY/NEUTER DEPOSIT, required by NYS law) APPLY.   

YOU CANNOT MEET ONYX UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.

Onyx (and her pups) are being fostered in Worcester, NY (Otsego County).  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption.
