Meet Chico, a little chi who came to us from our rescue friends in South Carolina.  Chico is a nice little guy looking for a settled forever home - no little kids for Chico - adult only home.  As for age, we have conflicting information - his paperwork says 4 yrs old, but we were earlier informed he was closer to 8 yrs old.  The truth is we simply do not know for sure.   
Chico likes to get lots of loving from his people.  With other dogs, he has shown himself to be a little grumpy at times -- so, we think he'd do best in a home just with his adult people.
Chico is UTD on his shots, neutered and HW negative. 

To be considered to adopt, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our home page.)  When you receive your password on your email account, log back on to complete the SAFE AT LAST online adoption application.  (Click Forms/Applications on the left-hand side of our home page and select Adoption Application.)  Once we have your completed application, IF WE FEEL YOU ARE A POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCH, WE WILL CONTACT YOU BY EMAIL TO SCHEDULE THE PHONE INTERVIEW TO COMMENCE THE REVIEW PROCESS -- SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM.  Our review process is very straightforward, but it does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  For Chico, AN ADOPTION FEE OF $425 ALSO APPLIES.

If you do not submit the Safe at Last online adoption application, we cannot consider you.  Delay in submitting your application will put you at a disadvantage to others who have applied.  Also, you cannot meet Chico or any of our rescue animals until you have applied and been approved to adopt. 

Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home (in Worcester NY [Otsego County]) to complete the adoption.  Covid-19 protocols must be observed, including mask.
