Meet Dulcie 

Dulcie is just a sweet, sweet, lovely dog.  She is about 2 years old, Lab/Doberman?/Hound/and maybe either a bit of Pittie or Shar Pei??  100% chocolate dog (but no guarantee on breed mix folks!).  She is tall and longer than she appears in photos (watch video).  She is about 53 lbs right now but could fill out and gain some muscle mass putting her ideal weight at 55-60lbs.

Dulcie is good with most other dogs and being fostered with both male and female canine friends. She does fine with the foster cats in her home, but a more dog savvy cat would pair best.  And Dulcie also loves all people - and she LOVE LOVES kids <3

She crates up just in case while people are away, but is housebroken and has been trustworthy out of her crate at night.

Her off-leash recall needs work; as a consideration/precaution - a completely stockade fence may work, or simply supervised yard time, leash walks etc, until she knows her home and where she belongs.  She is already doing better & started training in her foster home since her arrival 10/31.  Establishing a better recall is just a matter of consistent training -- offer high value rewards and make her 'come' completely positive - Dulcie definitely acts like she was reprimanded when she returned from any excursions in her prior lifestyle.  This makes it all the more important that her coming to you is met with immediate positive reinforcement.  

Although it does appear Dulcie has had a litter before, we believe she is the AUNT (or half-sister) to the puppies she was surrendered with (and who are in the photos with her :)

Sweet Dulcie is a darling dog who will make an excellent companion, and she is ready for her forever home.  Could that be you?

Dulcie is spayed, up-to-date with core vaccines, current on flea/tick & heartworm preventative, and microchipped!

Dulcie is being fostered in Cobleskill, NY.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption.
