Meet Lana’s pup Ramona & her 8 siblings (also available for adoption).  We rescued Lana from a shelter in NC, & these pups were born in foster care in NC.  On November 7^th, at 5 weeks, 2 days old, they made their voyage to their New York foster home (along with momma Lana who has already found her forever family).  These pups will be available for adoption when they turn 8 weeks old (on November 26^th).  Lana appears to be a collie/aussie mix (NO GUARANTEE).  We have no history on the daddies to this litter, although we think there may be terrier in the mix (AGAIN, NO GUARANTEE).  We anticipate (though again CANNOT GUARANTEE) that these pups will be on the upper end of medium to lower end of large in size when fully grown. All of these pups are super well-socialized.  All they have ever known is love.  As for individual traits:

Ramona is one of the smaller pups of this litter, but she is a mighty little girl!  Because she started as one of the smaller puppies, she needed to be a little fiercer – some might say spicy – to survive.  As her growth has caught up with the others, she is feeling more secure, and she has become a super “chill” baby.  She still loves to wrestle with her siblings, but her personality has become so calm and even-keeled.  Sometimes, she likes to find dark places away from the crowd; and other times she will settle into the puppy pile for a nap.  She absolutely loves to snuggle & has been very sweet and engaging with her new foster mom.  Ramona is a super nice puppy.

If you are interested in adopting, you must register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click "Register" on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to complete the Safe at Last online adoption application.  (Click "Forms/Applications" on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Without your SAFE AT LAST ADOPTION application, we cannot consider you, and we will not respond to generic petfinder (check the box) inquiries.  Once we have your application, IF WE FEEL YOU ARE A POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCH, we will reach out to you by email.  So, please check your spam.  Our review process is straightforward but involves the phone interview, reference checks and home assessment.  An adoption fee of $425, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.  

Regrettably, we cannot adopt to Massachusetts residents due to the MA dog quarantine laws.

You cannot meet the pups until you have been approved to adopt, & you must submit the Safe at Last adoption application to be considered.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home in Fultonham, NY (Schoharie County) to complete the adoption.  ALL COVID-19 PROTOCOLS MUST BE OBSERVED, INCLUDING MASK.
