Meet Lana’s pup Ferdinand (pictured here with his sister Eloise behind him).  We rescued momma Lana from a shelter in NC, & the 9 pups of this litter were born in foster care in NC.  On November 7^th, at 5 weeks, 2 days old, they made their voyage to their New York foster home (along with momma Lana who has already found her forever family).  These pups will be available for adoption when they turn 8 weeks old (on November 26^th).  Lana appears to be a collie/aussie mix (NO GUARANTEE). We have no history on the daddies to this litter, although we think there may be terrier in the mix (AGAIN, NO GUARANTEE).  We anticipate (though CANNOT GUARANTEE) that these pups will be on the upper end of medium to lower end of large in size when fully grown. All of these pups are super well-socialized.  All they have ever known is love.  As for individual traits:

Ferdinand in the story books is the gentle giant, & the name could not be more fitting.  He was the biggest pup at last weigh in.  He is quiet, loving, sweet and snuggly.  Ferdinand (like most of the pups in this litter) likes to snuggle in your neck, as well as in your lap.  He is not as vocal as some of his siblings, and his play is not as rough and tumble.  He is a super sweet little-big boy – another lovely puppy.  Ferd is one super nice pup who will love you for all of your days...this boy is a total love bug! 

If you are interested in adopting, you must register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click "Register" on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to complete the Safe at Last online adoption application.  (Click "Forms/Applications" on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Without your SAFE AT LAST ADOPTION application, we cannot consider you, and we will not respond to generic petfinder (check the box) inquiries.  Once we have your application, IF WE FEEL YOU ARE A POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCH, we will reach out to you by email.  So, please check your spam.  Our review process is straightforward but involves the phone interview, reference checks and home assessment.  An adoption fee of $425, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.  

Regrettably, we cannot adopt to Massachusetts residents due to the MA dog quarantine laws.

You cannot meet the pups until you have been approved to adopt, & you must submit the Safe at Last adoption application to be considered.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home in Fultonham, NY (Schoharie County) to complete the adoption.  ALL COVID-19 PROTOCOLS MUST BE OBSERVED, INCLUDING MASK.
