Our boys Brooks & Dunn!

Brooks (black/chocolate) & Dunn (white/tan) are 17 week old (DOB ~9/20/21) Hound/Pointer mixes -- we expect (but cannot guarantee) that they could be anywhere 45-60lbs adult weight.  Right now they weigh in at about 20lbs.

These boys are happy, healthy, and ready for their new homes!

Dunn is usually the leader of the two, and the first to muster up the confidence to check out something new.  He's also the first to run back looking for snuggles; he loves to be held and sit in people's laps (might as well soak that in while he is still small!).

Brooks can be a little more reserved in unfamiliar situations at first, but such a sweet, soulful boy.  He is learning to be more brave and with a little extra time you will see him trying out a new experience too and being just as brave as his brother.  He loves other dogs and does well looking to adult dogs for guidance - therefore we would like Brooks to go to a home with a canine housemate. Additionally, because Dunn is the leader of this duo, we are seeking separate homes for these boys - so, no "double adoption."  We believe that Brooks will shine even more brightly if he gets out from his under his brother Dunn's shadow.
Again, for Brooks, we feel his perfect home would be one that has a friendly, adult canine family member.

Overall though, both Brooks & Dunn are very well adjusted puppies. They are also fostered with cats and do just fine.

As all puppies do, they will need to continue training on their way to becoming lovely adult dogs, but they already have a very nice start - their 'sit' is quite good, they are crate trained, and with regular outside opportunities they are well on their way with potty-training.

**Serious inquiries, please fill out the Safe at Last adoption application (as described below) - After you have submitted your application, a follow-up email is suggested to their foster mom at swiffer109@yahoo.com**

Brooks & Dunn are up-to-date on age-appropriate core vaccines, dewormed, and current on flea/tick & heartworm preventative.

TO PURSUE ADOPTION, PLEASE REGISTER ON www.safeatlast.net.  After you receive your password, please COMPLETE THE SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once we have your application, IF WE FEEL YOU ARE A POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCH, we will contact you by e-mail to schedule the phone interview.  So, please check your spam.  Our review process is straightforward but involves an interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $425, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

YOU CANNOT MEET Brooks & Dunn UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.

**Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to adopt to Massachusetts residents due to the state's dog quarantine mandates**

Brooks & Dunn are being fostered in Cobleskill, NY.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption.

NYS Rescue Registry No. RR 087.
