She will be arriving to NY this weekend (4/17/22) from our wonderful rescue friends in Bamberg, South Carolina at the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society!

Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that she is petite shepherd mix, ~ 1 year old, and she weighs in at around 38 lbs.  WE have been told that she loves interacting with people, enjoys the water, is a fun girl, and is good with other dogs!  We will provide more information once she is in foster care with us.

"June is so excited to see people when they get home - she loves her people. She also plays well with other dogs!!  There is no food aggression, and I can reach right in and grab her dish or pet her while she is eating.  She walks well on leash & knows some commands.  She is crate trained & potty trained. Her only down side right now is that she likes to chase cats, but we are working on that.  And, I think with some work, she will be fine.  Junebug loves to give kisses and have belly rubs, and she loves to jump up and give hugs. She has a lot of energy -  so someone who has the time to walk her or a situation where she would would have a place to be able to run would be better.  Given her energy level, I think older dog-savvy kids would be better than very young children.  Finally, she seems to love being in the car -- every time we walk by she stands next to the car door waiting for me to open it. Junebug is a social, happy, fun girl!!"

To pursue adoption, you must first register with us on www.safeatlast.net.  When you receive your password, log back on to our website to complete the Safe at Last online adoption application.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  

ONCE WE HAVE YOUR APPLICATION, if we feel you are a potentially good match, we will email you to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process.  Our process is very straightforward but involves the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 also applies. 

Junebug is being fostered in a private home.  You cannot meet her until you have been approved to adopt.  We cannot consider you until we have your Safe At Last adoption application.  DELAY IN SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION WILL PUT YOU AT A DISADVANTAGE RELATIVE TO OTHERS WHO HAVE APPLIED.  Finally, we will not respond to generic check-the-box petfinder inquiries.  You need to complete the SAFE at LAST application to be considered.
