Meet Freddy, our fun-loving, mischievous, and hilarious boy!

First, look at that face!  He is adorable.  And, being a typical terrier, he is comical, fun, stubborn and smart. 

Freddy has been in foster care in North Carolina, and this is what his foster parents have to say about him:

“Freddy is potty-trained.  He sleeps in his crate at night and through the night as well. He has a Kong we fill with peanut butter when we leave any time during the day.  He can start with some barking if we don't distract and keep him busy during our exit.  But our neighbors say he quiets down in a few minutes. 

He has been good with our pack of 3 dogs, but he can play a bit rough for the little ones; so, we are coaching and guiding him on what nice play looks like. 

He is extremely smart and has learned so many good doggie traits like sit and no bark, how to snuggle quietly without our paws and that dinner is in his crate and we wait for the others to finish before we come out.  

He is great on a leash and loves to meet all the neighbors. We are working on no jumping - in all the excitement of hellos it is hard to always remember. 

Overall, he is adorable and going to be a wonderful active member of a family. He will just need the continued guidance, maybe even training classes, and lots of exercise.  Also, he will need a house - sorry no apartments for this guy. Ideally, a doggie companion of equal energy level would be great.”

Freddy is 6 to 8 months old and about 27 lbs.  He is neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate core vaccines.  He will be making his way to New York soon, and we will update you with his transport date once we know for sure. 

TO PURSUE ADOPTION, PLEASE REGISTER ON www.safeatlast.net.  After you receive your password, please LOG BACK ON TO THE WEBSITE TO COMPLETE THE SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once we have your application, IF WE FEEL YOU ARE A POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCH, we will contact you by e-mail to commence the review process.  So, please check your spam. 

Our process is straightforward but does involve a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 also applies.  Also, the approved adopter will be required to go to the foster parent’s home (near Cobleskill, NY) to complete the adoption. 

Finally, WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE SAFE AT LAST ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you at a disadvantage to those who have applied.
