About Reese

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Current Age: 3 Years (best estimate)
Meet Reese - who right now is still in foster care in North Carolina, transport scheduled for 7/12!

She is about 6 months old, spayed, UTD on core core vaccines, and we believe she is a Shep/Cattle Dog/???? mix - sorry - no guarantee on breed.  We believe she will be medium in size when full grown... Again, folks, she is a truly mixed breed - we cannot guarantee breed mix or size.  We can say that Reese is a super sweet girl.  And, she will be coming to us soon.  So, we are putting her bio out there to find this amazingly sweet girl an amazingly wonderful forever family!!

Here's what her NC foster parents have to say about her:

Where to we begin with our sweet Reese.  Pulled from an overcrowded Carolina shelter after spending her puppy hood there, 2 whole months.  Her foster mom feels like it was all fate we found her and that foster mom gets the privilege to be Reese's guide in to a new life.
This gorgeous red head is smart and learning what it's like to have the simple things like a bed, her own bowl of food and plenty of toys.
Her crate is where she loves to spend time and takes all of her treasures.  You can catch her in their on her back tossing a toy and talking.  Yes talking, it's not quite a bark, and it so adorable. She also has conversations with her foster dad too, using the same Reese language.
And her crate is where she sleeps quietly through the night as well.
We have asked her foster siblings to teach her how to walk on a leash around the block and she watches and learns from their queues. And they are teaching her to play gently and at their level, which she is really eager to learn. She would love to continue that relationship in a new home too with maybe a confident canine sibling or some other form of doggie socialization.
Because she is learning all about the world, outside distractions can still be a bit intimidating at times; so a back yard would really help with her confidence and work at creating that safe place.
Because she has had limited time outside of her kennel, we are still working on potty training.  She is working hard at keeping her crate clean at night. Days she is starting to bark when she needs to go out; we just need to help her stay focused on what the goal is when we make our way outside.
As she grows and becomes confident, she is such a clown and brings so many smiles in her current foster home. We are all so excited and amazed at her progress and cannot wait to see her grow. Making her part of a loving family would make all of her supporters so very happy.

To be considered, please register with us on our website (www.safeatlast.net).  When you receive your password on your email account, then log back on, and fill out the Safe at Last online adoption application.  WITHOUT YOUR APPLICATION, YOU CANNOT BE CONSIDERED.

Once we have your SAFE AT LAST application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email to commence the review process.  Our proces is straightforward, but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 also applies.

Again, we appreciate your interest, but if you do not fill out our application, we cannot consider you.  Also, the approved family will be required to come to the foster home (in Cobleskill NY) to meet Reese (and Reese's foster family) to complete the adoption.

Many thanks for choosing to rescue and for your interest in our Reese.
