CARLY HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING!!!!

Meet our 3 Lab/Hound mix girls - Mabel (tan/white), Lorna (black/white), & Carly (black).

We've posted a bit about their rescue on our Facebook page, but needless to say, another case of just a poor living situation for these poor little babies - well no more, they are rescued, have arrived in NY, and are safe with us.  They are looking and feeling better and better everyday!

These cuties are about 16 weeks old (born ~4/13/22).  Lab/Hound mix is the best guess, in their photos is their mom (black), and potential dad who was also on property.  We expect but cannot guarantee that they will be medium size adult dogs.

These ladies are very grateful and SO appreciate of attention.  They love nothing more than to be at your feet "helping" or being held for snuggles.  To that end, these ladies will do best in a home that can incorporate them into as much of family life as possible.  They want to go everywhere and do everything with you!

All 3 girls are fostered with other adult dogs and cats.  They do very well.  Actually the general consensus is that they might be happier in a home with a canine housemate to hang out with while the people are occupied - but if their family can make up for the canine pal and/or provide some friendly dog friend playtime, they would very well adjust to that too.

While not overly mouthy, they still have sharp puppy teeth and nails - a consideration with small kids and appropriate expectations as they continue their training.  These little ladies also tend to be a bit more vocal at the moment, particularly when separated from their people or pack - but their fosters homes are working on developing good puppy habits, learning to settle, and crate training of course - all 3 girls are doing great!

Keep in mind that adopting a puppy is more than falling in love with a picture.  Along with lots of love, these pups (like all pups) will need leadership from their humans and continued training to allow them to become good canine citizens.

Mabel, Lorna, & Carly (currently weighing in at 11-12lbs as of 7/14) are current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, & current on flea/tick preventative.

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process.  (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit, also apply.

YOU CANNOT MEET THE PUPS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to pick the pups up in Schoharie County.

Thank you for your interest in these sweet, beautiful pups!

If you are seriously interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended.

(We will not respond to generic "check the box" "Is she available" petfinder inquiries.)
