Meet our Diesel.

Of course, you have heard the stories of how dogs can tolerate so much and still love. Well, Diesel is one of those stories.

At 3 months old he was in an over-crowded shelter with a broken leg, limited vet care, no pain management, and no relief from the oppressive Southern heat.  The leg was never casted, and by some sheer luck and resilience on Diesel’s part, it has now fused together -- and he is on moderate activity with foster family & doing amazingly well. Our NC vet staff is amazed at how happy, friendly and strong this poor baby was and is.  This had to be so painful every day, for many days…

On to current life with Diesel!  It’s lots of sloppy kisses and whole butt tail wags. And let's talk about his dark chocolate to black coat with all of the white feathering. What an absolute hunk he is!

Now being a typical lab, he loves his toys and is very social with other dogs & people as well. They are all greeted with a little hop and bounce, foster mom included. 

What a great sleeper he is too, through the night and keeps his crate clean - although his crate is a bit unorganized with all his toys and chews he collects… well, puppies will be puppies!!!!!!

His appetite could be described as healthy. He is still learning that food and treats will be part of his everyday life; so some fine tuning there is needed, but he is coming along great. He is so excited to learn and get those treats, he is making great strides. 

Diesel is a really smart boy.  He has learned sit and down already - what a great doggie student he is!! We see a bright future for the rest of the basics being nailed down quickly too. 

Diesel is a true sweetheart and his foster family tells us he has been so much fun to foster - he brings so many smiles and laughs and sees no reason to look back on his hardships. He simply looks forward to the happiness and newness each day brings, but most of all, he looks forward to finding his amazing forever family. 

Diesel is about 5 months old (DOB ~2/22/22).  He is also neutered, up-to-date on core vaccines, and up-to-date on flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative.  Diesel is ready for his forever home!!!!!

Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that he is a Lab/Pointer mix.  We expect (THOUGH AGAIN CANNOT GUARANTEE) that Diesel will be a medium-sized dog when full-grown.
