She is still learning all about doggies skills outside of the home like walking on a leash and meeting new people, and she is doing great. 

Dove arrived in NY 8/13 after a long journey from North Carolina.  She met lots of new people & did wonderfully.  She also played fabulously with all the dogs here, most of them larger than she -- but she did just great.  She also met the two resident cats, and she did well with them too. 

Our best assessment is that Dove is an aussie/beagle mix, about 5 months old.  She is an energetic girl, but will also settle nicely. 

She does need on outlet for her energy -- so a fenced yard would be nice, or an active family that will commit to engaging with her and giving her the exercise she needs.  Dove would also benefit from structure, rules and guidance from her people (which is true of any adolescent dog) - but she does have aussie tendencies/behaviors - so exercise, rules, & structure are a must to help her become the wonderful adult dog she is meant to be. 

Dove loves to play with other dogs; but she also will "do her own thing."  Therefore, we think she would do fine in either a multiple dog home or as a solo dog.

Dove is a sweetheart who is sure to add much joy to the family lucky enough to adopt her.

Dove is being fostered in the Preston Hollow, NY area.  Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to meet Dove and complete the adoption.
