Meet Cam (black), who was rescued along with his chocolate brother Jam.
Jam has been adopted so it's Cam's turn!

Born ~5/28/22, Cam is just about 19.5 weeks old.  Best guess is Lab mix - at about 31lbs (10/11/22) we expect Cam to be in the large adult weight range (55-70lbs? no guarantees though :)

Cam has been in foster care, so he does know what houses and comfy spots are about. He is practicing crate training and doing well with housebreaking.

Cam is a happy, playful pup. He sometimes likes to take new situations slow, but once he knows it's a positive experience he's quite willing to go with the flow and enjoy whatever is going on. Typical Lab Cam also loves toys!

We'd consider Cam a moderate energy level-because he is able to settle nicely, but this boy will definitely need his little brain worked and proper exercise outlets especially as he grows into a young adult.

Cam is fostered with other dogs and cats.  Good with both, and does well looking to a trained adult dog for direction.  Apart from regular puppy stuff, we also think he'd be fine in a home with dog-respectful kiddos.

As always, keep in mind that adopting a puppy is more than falling in love with a picture.  Along with lots of love, these pups (like all pups) will need leadership from their humans and continued training to allow them to become good canine citizens. 

Cam is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, & current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves an interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 applies.

YOU CANNOT MEET THE PUPS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to pick the pups up in Schoharie County.
