Meet Marge!!  Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Marge is a Corgi/Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier mix.  Right now, she is 6 months old and weighs about 20 lbs.  We expect (THOUGH CANNOT GUARANTEE) that Marge will be mid-medium in size when full grown.  Marge is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, & current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.   So, she is ready for her forever home!!

In terms of personality, this is what Marge’s current foster family has to say –

Marge is open to almost anything -- runs in the yard, naps on the couch, walks in the neighborhood, time in your lap. She is good with it all and loves to be close.  She came from a crowded shelter in North Carolina after being left outside with no shelter at all and then never reclaimed. Shelter life was not for her, however; she was scared in the shelter environment.  But that was our lucky day, because that’s how Marge made her way into our Safe at Last family – and this girl is so full of love and life.  We are happy to be able to find Marge a wonderful home where she will be cherished forever.

Marge is a “low rider” whose tail wags when she walks; and how about those ears and that expressive face. She is a cutie-pie for sure.  Beyond her cuteness, she is a smart girl as well.  She is learning some manners and is trying to remember that being mouthy and jumping is not good doggie behavior. Marge does take cues from her foster fur siblings too. She is learning by leaps and bounds.  She's also over-the-top adorable as she dances around her humans and doggie family.   

Crate training is going really well at her foster home, and her foster family is fine-tuning Marge’s potty training. She is really a smart girl and takes direction quickly. 

Marge is an active pup.  She will need continued training and, of course, physical outlets/exercise appropriate for her energy level.  Given her activity level at this stage of her life, we are seeking a home without small children.

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 applies.

YOU CANNOT MEET MARGE UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption (in Schoharie or Albany County).
