Meet Ulani, who just arrived in NY this past weekend (11/12/22).
Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Ulani is a Cattle Dog/Husky/Shiba Inu mix, petite at about 30lbs, currently around 7 months old. She is spayed and up-to-date on all core vaccines, flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative. So, this sweet girl is seeking her forever family!
At this time, Ulani is still settling in at her foster home. It was a long trip from South Carolina to New York; then, shortly after arrival at her NY foster home, Ulani needed emergency surgery to correct a spay that developed complications. She is doing fantastic now, and, as she settles in more at her foster home, we are seeing her personality begin to emerge.
Ulani’s foster parents tell us that Ulani is a true Velcro dog. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her people & would melt right into them if she could. Coming so recently from a shelter situation, however, Ulani is unsure and shy in new situations – this is understandable given all that she has had to adjust to in so short a time. Given her current tentativeness in new situation, we think that Ulani would benefit from having a social canine family member with a middle-of-the-road personality who could show Ulani the ropes and help her gain canine confidence.
She has not had a cat intro yet - her "sister" Millie (whom Ulani was found with), is very afraid of cats, but doing well learning how to live with them in her foster home - we could guess Ulani's thoughts about cats might be similar - but an official 'cat test' can be arranged.
As Ulani decompresses further from transport, her recent surgery, and all the changes in her life, we will update her biography accordingly. At this point, suffice it to say that Ulani is a sweetheart of a dog who will return her people’s love 1,000-fold. If you might like to welcome Ulani into your heart and home – and continue to guide her in her development and give her the loving, caring, wonderful life she deserves, we would love to hear from you.
Again, Ulani is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, & current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Ulani is also crate-trained and potty trained.
