Meet Macho, Clark and Vixen.

 

Beyond adorable, these pups are survivors.  They came from a backyard situation enduring winter temps (at a very early age), along with 16 other puppies. They had to have (and do have) a strong will to live and appreciate everything they are now experiencing – warmth, good food/full bellies, lots of love, and good medical care (deworming, age-appropriate vaccinations, and flea/tick preventative).  Right now (1/16), our best assessment is that they are about 9 weeks old.  As for breed mix, honestly, we do not know – the listing is a best guess only (based on discussions with our vet) – so, NO GUARANTEE.  Likewise, as to ultimate size, we believe that Macho and Clark will be medium in size when full grown and that Vixen will be larger – again, NO GUARANTEE.

 

Re personalities, these pups are a hoot – active, happy, & social!!  As for our little but mighty Macho - he is smart, funny, lovable. He is also up for just about anything exciting, an adventure, playing with his brother, you or another pet, or helping you find and eat your pizza. This boy is usually on the move but will always stop for a quick snuggle as well. Macho is an active little pup who will bring a world of love to any family lucky enough to adopt him.  (And, an extra plus – Macho and his sibs are crate trained.  Potty training is also going great, and they sleep through the night [although they are early risers].)

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

YOU CANNOT MEET THE PUPS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption (in Schoharie or Albany County).
