Meet Diamond, who came into our rescue along with sister Topaz.  These pups (as well as 7 others) were owner surrenders in North Carolina.  It's the typical situation of pregnancy/puppies due to people not spaying and neutering (or providing any vet care for) their animals.  

Diamond is now looking for her forever home.  She is a Great Pyrenees/Husky/Shepherd mix (photo gallery shows her parents) - and, so, we expect (though cannot guarantee) that she will be large or x-large when full grown (85 to 100 lbs).  Currently at 11 weeks old (born 1/4/23), she is already about 25lbs. 

Diamond is good with other dogs and cats.  Apart from general puppy behaviors - jumping, experimenting with her mouth/teething -we do think she would be fine with respectful children.  Of course, proper parental supervision/oversight and commitment to providing appropriate training/direction is a must (which is the case for any young puppy, but particularly for Diamond, given her size and breed mix).  

She has started crate training, and as any 11 week old puppy, will need to work on housetraining - but she's doing well!

Diamond is a gorgeous puppy and sweet.  We are seeking an adopter familiar with these breeds and willing/able to meet the physical & mental needs of this beautiful girl (i.e., adequate physical exercise, daily engagement in family activities, training, and, of course, love).

Diamond is current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed & deflead.

(So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a $35 refundable spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

YOU CANNOT MEET DIAMOND UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption (in the Schoharie/Albany County area).
