Meet Boots, who came into our rescue along with brother Shiloh (also available for adoption on our website)!!  Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Boots is a Mini Pin/Manchester Terrier/possibly Corgi mix and approximately 8 months old.

Boots’ life started the same way his brother Shiloh's did – living in a car with their mom when she lost her home.  We feel fortunate to have been able to take these boys into our rescue so that their prior hard times are now behind them. And what deserving boys both of these sweethearts are!! 

Like his brother Shiloh, Boots is a nearly perfect boy - easy to train, great with dogs, great with kids, sweet and snuggly. Boots will need a little help understanding cats, but we believe he is trainable in that regard. He also walks great on the leash and is almost house broken and crate trained. He is loving and playful, but not rowdy. Boots is working through positive reinforcement and gaining more security each and every day too. 

And, from his North Carolina foster mom --  "I can’t think of anything anyone would want in a dog that he can’t offer."  (Boots is currently in North Carolina and will be neutered in early April by our vet there prior to making his journey north to us.)

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email to commence the review process. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 applies.

YOU CANNOT MEET BOOTS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption (in the Schoharie/Albany County area).
