Meet Bolton!

Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that Bolton is about 4 years old and a Maltese/Yorkie, maybe Poodle mix (NOT hypoallergenic) - he's had a few haircuts/hairstyles since being in rescue with us :)

He is ~9.5lbs of sweetness -- such a polite, quiet and endearing little boy.

When we first met him, he was cautious and a bit nervous, but within minutes this boy connected with his foster parents and enjoys being wherever they are. He wants nothing more than to be your little shadow. He has the most adorable little trot (when he is following his people around) and is excited to be indoors or outdoors, watching TV or making dinner.

Bolton is fostered with various canines of all sizes, and is respectful to the other small female resident dog. Although he hasn't officially met the resident cats, we're very confident he will be just fine with cats.

Bolton is friendly but sometimes startles a little bit, so older kids and a more mellow household would be his best fit.

Bolton can also sleep in his own crate but really wants to find a spot on your bed. He loves the pillows and curls up without any noise throughout the night.

He is also houstrained and is a super sleuth in the back yard with the others and always comes when called. Honestly he is the best little buddy and would be great for someone who is looking for a companion.

To be considered for adoption, you must register on www.safeatlast.net. When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to the website to complete the Safe at Last online adoption application. If you do not submit an application, we cannot consider you. Delay in submitting your application will put you at a disadvantage to others who have already applied.

Once we have your application, if we feel you are a good match for Bolton, we will contact you by email to commence the review process. So, please check your spam. Our process is straighforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 also applies. Additionally, approved adopters are required to come to the foster home (in the Schoharie County/Albany County NY area) to complete the adoption.

Finally, we will not respond to generic "check the box" petfinder inquiries. If you are seriously interested, you must submit the Safe at Last online adoption application.
