Meet the newest little guy weighing in at a whopping 12 lbs! This would be Billy Joel or Joey for short.

He is all cuteness with a personality to match! He is about 1-3 years old, and HONESTLY, we can't make a good guess on his breed - maybe a Shiba Inu mix because some of the others who were dumped along with him exhibited those characteristics - Pomeranian, Chihuahua, Spitz, Spaniel, Corgi?!?! Your guess is as good as ours, but he is only 12lbs, so just a cute little Heinz 57 :) What we do know is that he is a sweet little dog with lots of love to give!!

Joey is a happy boy now, but he came from pretty lousy circumstances.. He had been dumped on a rural dirt road in NC with his canine family. They all were living under a home in frigid cold, wet weather. Luckily, we were able to rescue Joey (and the others) from that awful situation.

All of those hardships seem to be long forgotten by this boy. Joey has adapted so quickly to house life. He loves his toys and zipping through the house to check in and say hello before racing back to the toy bucket. He also plays wonderfully with his canine foster siblings. He is so fun and sweet, play bowing and engaging in pretend wrestling. He is a happy boy who also happens to love his nap time, especially if there is some sun shining in on a fluffy blanket.

If you are looking to smile often and laugh too, this sweet guy is for you.

Billy Joel is neutered, up-to-date on core vaccines, dewormed, & current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application. (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email (So, please check your SPAM.) Our process is straightforward but involves an interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $450 also applies.

YOU CANNOT MEET THE Billy Joel UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT. WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION. Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants. Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie County.
