Meet Dandy!  She is one of 4 babies we saved with no time left before they would be euthanized. They were simply out of time – and we just made it just in time to save them from that fate. 

Dandy is a gorgeous girl.  Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEES) is that she is approximately 5 months old & a rough-coated collie mix.  Dandy is now learning what life in a home is all about. In just a few short days she has learned to play with toys, venture in for some quick pats and enjoy just how soft a blanket can be. She also keeps her space clean and is good at sharing her food or toys.

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), apply.

YOU CANNOT MEET OUR RESCUE ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie/Albany County.
