He ventures out on his own, plays with his siblings but also is learning how nice some snuggles with all the foster moms can be. And the more snuggles he gets, the more he likes them. 

He mixes in the group when it comes to play and can play with them all.  But, he will also wander off on his own adventure. If one of his siblings wants to join him, all the better. 

His voice is seldom heard; he much prefers to make his way to your feet and lean in to let you know he is there and ready for some loves. 

And the fluffy coat,  sweet face and shorter little legs.... oh my, what else could you ask for in a puppy?

The "Old Soul" puppies are about 8 weeks old (born ~5/1/2024).  Their mom appears to be a German Shepherd mix (see photos), and some of the other dogs on the property features Anatolian Shepherd/Lab qualities.  We expect but cannot guarantee these puppies will grow into large adults.

The puppies are started on core vaccines, dewormed/de-flead, and microchipped!

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), apply.

YOU CANNOT MEET OUR RESCUE ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie/Albany County.
