About Toast

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: tan & black
  • Current Age: 5 Months 12 Days (best estimate)
  • Housetrained: No

Meet Toast (tan) and Cloud (white), the girls of our shepherd litter.    Both of these girls are energetic, rambunctious, happy, playful puppies.

As for Toast, she is fearless – not at all afraid of strangers and likes to play with the very large Great Dane in her foster home.  With her humans, Toast can be a Velcro pup – she likes to follow her foster dad everywhere and has been know to use his foot as a pillow and fall asleep.

Cloud is energetic like her sister and can be a little rambunctious/mischievous too.  However, she has a little different temperament – she loves people, but when she meets a stranger for the first time, it takes her a couple of minutes to warm up to them.  Once she does, she is your friend, but she can be a bit shy/reserved at first meeting.

Both of these puppies like to be held and petted by their humans, and each would love having forever home of her own, where she will be made a valued part of family life.

Our best assessment, NO GUARANTEE, is that these pups are Shepherd mixes (although we prefer Embark for accuracy-they did get tested via Wisdom panel-see photo).  Currently about 10-11 weeks old (born ~7/11/24), who will be in the medium-large range when fully grown.  Again, this is a best assessment only, no guarantee.

All of these pups have been dewormed and are up-to-date on flea/tick preventative and age appropriate/time appropriate vaccines (parvo/distemper).

If you are interested in providing Toast, Cloud or one of their brothers with a loving, caring, responsible home for life, we would love to hear from you and look forward to seeing your application (as explained below).

**If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended.

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), apply.

YOU CANNOT MEET OUR RESCUE ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie/Albany County.

Thank you for your interest.

(Sorry, we will not respond to generic "check the box," "Is he available," "Can you give me more information" inquiries.)
