Sweet Onyx is a gorgeous example of her black labbie heritage, with her beautfiul looks and dear personality.  This darling girl has come a long way since her days in South Carolina, where she was rescued from a neglectful  situation about one year ago.  Onyx has absolutely blossomed over the past year while living with her foster family, which includes another dog and two cats as her playmates.   Onyx loves the companionship of other animals, especially dogs.  She positively "glows" with happiness in their company.

 

While Onyx has come such a long way from her South Carolina days, she still has a few issues with shyness when meeting strangers and dealing with new situations.  It takes her a little bit of time to adapt, but adapt she does.  Once Onyx gets to know you, she is quite the cuddle bug.  She is very close to her foster mom and human foster "sister", loves to play with them, go for long walks, and snuggle.  She also loves going to other people's homes for playdates with their dogs.

 

Indeed, Onyx's true personality shines when she interacts with other dogs. Simply put, Onyx has never met a dog she didn't like :)   Since she loves dogs so much, another dog (about her size or larger) is a necessity in her new forever home.   

 

Onyx also does well on the leash.  She loves her leash walks, and goes ona  2-mile walk with her foster mom every morning.  She also loves running and playing in her fenced yard.  Since Onyx cannot yet be trusted off her leash outside, a big fenced in yard is also a must so that she can get the exercise that she needs.  Onyx would be a wonderful addition to any home looking for a great companion for a dog that needs a playmate.
