MEET GENTLE BEN!

Ben is a true survivor and real success story. Ben was brought in to a rural South Carolina shelter after being confiscated by the local sheriff due to SERIOUS neglect. It was immediately obvious that he was 20-30 lbs underweight. He was also discovered to be heartworm positive and had an eye condition where his lower eyelids rubbed against his eyes causing his eyes to constantly be irritated. Ben was in such poor condition when he came in that shelter volunteers thought he was a senior. However, BEN WAS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD! Ben also had suffered a heat stroke and had to be treated for anemia.

We are happy to report that Ben has come through it all with flying colors!! Ben is now up to 100 lbs & is doing wonderfully. He is VERY grateful to all those who contributed to make it possible to have his lifesaving medical treatment. Now that Ben has been treated for all of his conditions, he is FINALLY ready for his forever home!!!

The family who welcomes Ben into their lives will be very lucky indeed!! Ben is so very sweet and affectionate, wanting only to be near and press his head into his person's side. He loves to eat, romp and play, but when done playing he easily lumbers over the fence to wait by the front door to be let into his foster home. We believe that Ben will bond quickly to his new family and be a lifelong loyal companion. Ben wants a home where he will be loved, have his medical needs properly attended to, and always be near his people.
