Sweet Ruby came to us all the way from a rural shelter in South Carolina.  She had been brought into the shelter from animal control, with no history on her past life, the only exception being an embedded collar.  Caring shelter workers got Ruby the vet care she needed to correct the collar problem, and Ruby is no worse for wear!  Actually, Ruby became quite a favorite with shelter staff.  She is a sweet, sweet girl, easy-going, & affectionate.

As for her breed mix, we do not know for sure; however, based on her size and features, she might have some lab in her along with a small breed.   Ruby is a small girl -- only about 26 lbs -- and she is full grown.  Her estimated age is about 1 year. 

While we cannot be certain of her breed mix, we can say with certainty that Miss Ruby is one wonderful dog.  The volunteers who transported and overnighted Ruby when she was brought to us from South Carolina wrote to tell us that this very special girl had positively stolen their hearts.  And, Ruby continues to charm all whom she meets, including her foster family.  Ruby's foster parents tells us that Ruby is both playful and gentle, gets along with other dogs, responds extremely well to easy correction, does well in her crate, and is, overall, an easy going girl. 

Ruby is truly a gem.  She is also heartworm negative and already spayed.  So, if you are looking for a fabulous small, young adult dog, Ruby could be perfect for you!
