Our Bogey is a fabulous coonhound mix pup who came to us from a rural shelter in South Carolina. The pals that came along with him have all found their forever homes, and sweet Bogey is still waiting for his family. He is asking: "Won't you love me??"
Bogey is an amazing puppy -- happy, social, affectionate & well-adjusted. He LOVES people & other dogs, and also does well with cats. Bogey loves romping in the fenced yard at his foster home with the two big adult dogs there. He also enjoys leash walks and is positively smiling when out exploring.
In terms of training, Bogey is a smart pup. He already is learning some basic commands (like sit); in fact, he will now sit for his meals as well as for his treats. He is also coming along excellently on his potty training. With the doggie-door set-up at his foster home, he has had only one indoor accident in the past several weeks (and that was during the horribly heavy hurricane rainstorms; so who can blame him??!!). Bogey also rides great in the car. Suffice it to say that Bogey is a great pup who is sure to bring tons of joy to his family.
Currently (9/8). Bogie is about 14 weeks old, and he is 27 lbs. We expect he will be in the upper end of medium when full grown (50-55 lbs) - large enough to be a great companion and enjoy lots of outdoor activities, but not too big to be difficult to handle. There is no doubt that this darling "love-bug" of a puppy will make a fabulous addition to any loving home.
If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Bogey for his whole life - no matter what may lie ahead in yours - please go to our website (by typing or cutting and pasting www.safeatlast.net into your browser) & register. Log back on with your username and password, and complete an online adoption application (under Forms/Applications).
Once we have your application, we will be in touch to work with you through the review process. The process is very straightforward, but does involve reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $150, plus a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply. If you have any questions or would like more information about him, please email foster mom Cindy at cindy@safeatlast.net.
Thank you for wanting to welcome this wonderful puppy into your heart and home & helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time.
