Barney is a foxhound who lost his family in the storm.  He is estimated to be about 1 yr old.   This is what Barney's current caretakers tell us about him:
Barney is totally crate trained now, and we're working on his obedience. He is a quick study, thankfully! He still has puppy in him - roly poly, loves to wrestle with our lab and get flipped all over. He wants nothing more than to please you and actually pouts when he gets yelled at and will follow you around until you praise him again. He's very insecure, but is making strides. He trusts my husband and me very much and welcomes guests with a bark and constant wagging of his tail. When taken out of his element, he is scared of some strangers and wants to hide behind the person he trusts. We believe he was abused because he's shy with big movements.  He rides perfectly in a car - curls up and goes to sleep. He has tested positive for Lyme disease and has a limp on his back-end because of it. He is on antibiotics now, but it's too soon to see any real improvement. He'll thrive in a place with other dogs (he loves his pack!) and with someone or a family that can spend lots of time with him.
Can you tell that Barney's caretakers adore him?!?!

If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, who has a lifetime of love to give, please contact:
