Kelly and her siblings (our "K Litter") came to us all the way from South Carolina. These babies put the cuteness factor way over the top!! They also have positively darling personalities -- happy, playful, social, and affectionate. They have simply charmed everyone whom they've met!
These pups are predominantly Redbone Coonhound. Our best guess is that there is Shar Pei or Boxer in the mix, but we are not sure. Redbone Coonhounds are known to make great family dogs. They love their humans and enjoy being included in activities with their people. While they are people-oriented and affectionate, they generally are not as fervently attention-demanding as some other breeds (e.g., Labradors). Redbones are said to combine handsome looks and an even temperament with a confident air.
As for Kelly, although she is the smallest of this litter, she does not appear to know that!! She has a feisty spirit and can hold her own with her larger sibs. She is a happy little girl, who seems equally thrilled to be getting love from her foster family or playing with her toys. She & the rest of these pups are quick learners -- in just a couple of minutes, they learned to use a doggie door at their foster home. And, they are all enjoying the freedom of romping in a nice big yard - even in this chilly weather. After a nice play session, Kelly and the gang will come inside and pile together on their bed for a nice nap. Kelly is a beautiful, social, well-adjusted pup who would love a committed family of her very own. She will make a wonderful addition to any responsible family who will treat her as one of the family and love her for life.
Adopting a puppy is a serious responsibility -- it involves a long-term commitment of time, love and resources. So, please, seriously & carefully evaluate your circumstances BEFORE deciding to adopt. If you truly have the time, willingness & ability to meet your puppy's needs -- and to make a long-term commitment for your pet's entire life, no matter what may lie ahead in yours -- then please apply. To do that, please register on our website (www.safeatlast.net), log back on with your username and password, and complete an online adoption application. Once we have your application, a volunteer will be in touch to work with you through the review process.
Our process is very straightforward, but it does involve a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $300, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.
Because our animals are fostered in private homes and we do not have a centralized facility, you must be approved for adoption before you can meet the pups. We appreciate your understanding in this regard. Of course, if you would like additional information, or if you have any questions, please email us at info@safeatlast.net. We are happy to assist.
Thank you for your interest in our rescue babies and for helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time.
