Meet LaVenna, one of our "Easter Eight" labbie mix "L litter" that came to us from Ohio. These beautiful babies found themselves in the awful situation of having lost their momma when they were only 6 weeks old. Sadly, someone poisoned the mom of these babies... a heartless, awful thing. Local rescue workers stepped in to help these little ones, and that's how they made their way to us. We are thrilled to have them with us, and are seeking loving, committed forever families for these precious babies.
LaVenna is a beautiful, sweet little fluff-muffin. Like her brother Lloufer, she is a wonderful little pup, but she is a bit more reserved than most of the other pups in this litter. In new situations, it seems like she is not quite sure of herself and she can be a little shy. But we will keep working with her to help her come into her own and gain more security. We think that LaVenna (like her brother Lloufer) is mixed with some type of Spitz, which accounts for her fluffy coat & other features. Currently (3/24), LaVenna is about 4 lbs, and we expect that she will be small- to medium-sized when full-grown - but we think she will be on the lower end (25 to 30 lbs). Again, this is our best assessment- we cannot be sure. We do know for sure, however, that this sweet pup will make a great addition to any family who shows her the love, care & sensitivity that she so richly deserves.
If you have the love in your heart, and the time, willingness & ability to commit to LaVenna for her entire life -- no matter what may lie ahead in yours -- then please apply. To do that, please register on our website (www.safeatlast.net), log back on with your username and password, and complete an online adoption application. Once we have your application, a volunteer will be in touch to work with you through the review process.
Our process is very straightforward, but it does involve a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $300, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.
Because our animals are fostered in private homes and we do not have a centralized facility, you must be approved for adoption before you can meet the pups. We appreciate your understanding in this regard. Of course, if you would like additional information, or if you have any questions, please email foster mom Sharon at lammvogel@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your interest in our rescue babies and for helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time.
