Our "S Litter" - puppies Summer, Sara, Savannah, Spring, Skyler, Storm and Saturn - came to us all the way from Ohio.  The momma of these pups is a medium-sized aussie mix, and we have no idea about the heritage of the dad (or dads).   All of these puppies are happy, playful, affectionate, people-oriented, and tons of fun!

They are also gorgeous.  We have two striking color schemes in this litter:  merle and black/white (with chocolate overtones).  The merle-colored pups (Sara, Savannah and Skyler) possibly might be mixed with Catahoula.  The black & white pups (Spring, Summer, Storm and Saturn) might be mixed with flat-coated retriever or spaniel.  These are just educated guesses, however; there is no way for us to know for sure.  We think the pups will be medium-sized dogs when full grown (40-65 lbs), with Summer and Storm being the smallest, then Sara, and the rest of gang being larger (with Spring being the largest currently).  Again, however, we cannot give any guarantee regarding ultimate size.  Right now (8/25), the pups range in weight from 5 (Summer) to 8.5 lbs (Spring).

While we cannot give breed/size guarantees, we do know for certain that each of these babies has his or her own unique beauty, and all have wonderful personalities.  Also, assuming these pups remain true to their aussie heritage, they will be smart, engaging dogs who will thrive on exercise, mental stimulation, and continued interaction with their humans.   Therefore, any of these sweet pups would make a wonderful addition to a loving, committed home that embraces the pup as a family member and includes him/her in the activities of family life.

Specifically as to Summer, she is a fabulous puppy, both in terms of her sweet disposition and her gorgeous looks.  Her coat has beautiful chocolate highlights in it, particularly on her head, and she has some waviness to her coat as well.  Her white markings, including on her "toes" & her chest are just gorgeous.  And she has the sweetest, sweetest temperament.  Perhaps it's because she is the smallest, but she SO VERY MUCH asks for foster mom to pick her up and love her.  She raises her little arms & simply LOVES to be held.  She is a happy pup and loves to play as well, but she is a bit calmer than most of her siblings.  Summer is a total sweetheart.  As noted, we think that she will be on the lower end of medium when full grown -- but that does not affect the size of her heart!! She simply LOVES people & is a wonderful puppy.

If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to one of these precious pups for the rest of his/her life -- no matter what may lie ahead in yours -- please register on our website (www.safeatlast.net).  When you receive your password, please log back on to the site with your password and username; then complete the online adoption application (under Forms/Applications on the lefthand side of the homepage).

Once we have your application, a volunteer will be in touch to work with you through the review process.  Our process is very straightforward; however, it does involve a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $300 and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law) also apply.

Finally, because our rescues are fostered in private homes and we do not have a centralized facility, you must first be approved for adoption before meeting the pups.  We appreciate your understanding in this regard.  Of course, if you have any questions along the way, please email us at info@safeatlast.net.  We are happy to assist.

Thank you for your interest in our wonderful rescues & for helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time.
