Meet sweet Tiny Tim from our "T Litter". Our best guess is that these pups are Parson Russell Terrier mixes. Currently (11/6), they are approximately 9-10 weeks old and weigh between 6 and 7.5 lbs. We expect that they will be small dogs when full grown (under 25 lbs).
All of these puppies are very, very friendly and love to be cuddled. They are also active and enjoy running around, exploring and playing. They have short coats and are cute as buttons with their beautiful markings & scruffy little faces. They seemed to enjoy riding in the car coming home the other day. Essentially, these pups are up for anything fun!!! They are all very outgoing, affectionate, wonderful babies just waiting for families to welcome them into their lives.
While all of these pups are special, Tiny Tim is especially so. Tim was born with a birth defect -- his right front leg is not properly formed, and it will need to be amputated. Tim's surgery is currently scheduled for mid-December, and we expect that he will do just fine on 3 legs. But he will need to stay with his foster mom and dad until he heals (which we figure will be 10 to 14 days after his surgery) - we will keep you posted.
Right now, Tim does not seem to know that there is anything amiss - he runs, plays and wrestles with his siblings and is not at all slowed down by his leg. This boy is one tough little customer, who also happens to be an exceptionally sweet, affectionate pup. We will see him through his surgery & keep you updated on his progress. We are seeking a fantastic forever home for this very special, wonderful puppy.
If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Tiny Tim for his whole life - no matter what may lie ahead in yours - please register on our website (www.safeatlast.net). Once a password is sent back to your email account, then please log back on to the website with your username and password and complete the online adoption application (under Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage). Once we have your application, a volunteer will be in touch to work with you through the review process.
Our review process is very straightforward. It does, however, involve a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $300 and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by New York State law) also apply.
Finally, because our animals are fostered in private homes & we do not have a centralized facility, you must be approved for adoption prior to meeting the pups. We appreciate your understanding.
Of course, if you have any questions or need assistance, please email us at info@safeatlast.net. We are happy to help.
Thank you for your interest in our rescue babies and for helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time.
