About Raven

  • Housetrained: No
Meet our new "Sky Team" litter of six:  puppies Raven, Chickadee, Phoebe, Robin, Condor, and Peregrine.  These babies are gorgeous and absolutely sweet as can be.  There appear to be several dads in this litter, but the retriever shows through in all of them, including in their very sweet personalities.  Of the blond pups, Peregrine has the long coat, like a golden retriever; Chickadee and Phoebe have shorter coats, but still thicker than a typical lab coat.   Tri-color pup Robin appears to be mixed with aussie.  And, of the black pups, Raven looks very much like a black lab, whereas Condor has a bushy long coat, which makes us think he has flat-coated retriever, or a mix of golden and lab.

While we cannot be sure on breed mix, we are sure that these are lovely puppies.  These pups love to play; and they love to be loved on.  We expect that any of the babies will make a wonderful family dog and companion.

Currently (3/31), the pups are about 3 months old and they range in size from 16-20 lbs.  While we cannot give any guarantees, based on current size, we anticipate they will be medium to large when full grown.

As for specifics on Raven, he is a darling boy with the most expressive, inquisitive face and imploring eyes.  He has the blocky head and build of a black lab (albeit with some hints of white on his chin and toes), and the lovely temperament that goes along with the lab breed.  Raven loves to be loved, and he sometimes will let you know by giving you a little bark -- as if to say, "OK, it's time to love me up!!"  He, of course, also loves to play with his people and his siblings.  He has a typical happy, sweet labby personality.  Raven is sure to be a wonderful companion to his humans and wants nothing more than to be included in day-to-day activities and family life.

If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Raven for his whole life -- no matter what may lie ahead in yours -- please register on www.safeatlast.net (by clicking Register on the lefthand side of the homepage).  When you receive your password (which will be sent to your email account), log back on to our website with your username and password to access the online adoption application (under Forms/Applications on the lefthand side of our homepage).

Once we have your completed application, a volunteer will be in touch by email to set up a phone interview to commence the review process.  Our process is very straightforward but does involve a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $375, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

These pups are being fostered in a private home.  SO, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CANNOT MEET THEM UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE ADOPTION APPLICATION AND BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.

If AFTER YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR COMPLETE APPLICATION, you have any questions, please email us at info@safeatlast.net.

Thank you for your interest in these gorgeous babies.
