About Little Bit

  • Housetrained: No
This is one of Momma Maggie's foster puppies happily known as "Little Bit"! She is a very special puppy due to her size, as she weighs only about 2 lbs at 3 months of age.

From what we can tell, she is a Chihuahua mix and is a lovable sweet little bundle.  Little Bit is most definitely a "pocket pup" in every sense of the word, but she does enjoy being outside with her foster mom, foster dad and canine siblings, and she has learned to go up and down plastic stairs designed for smaller dogs.  She does play with her other siblings especially Nutkin who is her bunk mate, but most of her other foster siblings outgrew her by quite a bit; so, Nutkin is her main play mate.

Little Bit loves to lay in your lap or crawl up and lay on your shoulder or behind your neck.  She also likes to play with very small toys or grab your finger and pretend she is a tough girl.  This is a really special little girl who will need to go to the right family who has experience with a dog this size.  Because of her very tiny size, she cannot go to a home with small children or very large dogs.

If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Little Bit - for the rest of her life, no matter what may lie ahead in yours - please register on www.safeatlast.net.  Then log back on to the website with your username and password to complete the online adoption application (under Forms/Applications on the left hand side of the homepage).

Once we have your application, we will be in touch by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process.  Our process is very straightforward, but it does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $375, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

Please understand that you cannot meet the pups until you have been approved for adoption, and you cannot be considered for adoption until you have submitted a complete adoption application.

If, after you have submitted your application, you have any questions, please email us at info@safeatlast.net.  We are happy to assist.

Thank you for your interest in our rescue babies & for helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time.
