UPDATE: Thanks to the recent Pet Connection adoption event, our sweet Lucinda has an adoption pending & will be going to her forever home very soon!!
This is our sweet Lucinda who is one of Momma Maggie's foster babies. We believe Lucinda to be a Shepherd/Keeshond mix, and she has a lovely medium-length coat. Currently, she is around 3 months of age and weighs about 14 lbs; so, we expect she will be larger than Momma Maggie’s biological pups when she matures, but still in the medium-sized range.
From what we have been told, Lucinda was turned in at the vet office in KY when Momma Maggie was there for a checkup. At that time, Lucinda was about the same size and age as Maggie’s pups & still very young and in need of being nursed. Well, sweet Maggie adopted Lucinda right then and there & no doubt saved her life.
Lucinda is a little laid back and can be a bit reserved; given that she was taken from her birth mother at such an early age, this is understandable. After having been safe and sound in foster care, however, Lucinda is coming into her own and loves running around with her brothers. She also likes belly rubs, giving kisses, and exploring outside or laying on the porch or deck. She also goes up and down the deck stairs with no problem & knows how to use the doggie door. Like her brothers, she is making good progress with learning to potty outside.
If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Lucinda - for her whole life, no matter what may lie ahead in yours - please register on www.safeatlast.net. Once you receive your password on your email account, then please log back on to the website with your username and password to complete the online adoption application (under Forms/Applications on the left hand side of the homepage).
Once we have your application, we will be in touch by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process. Our process is very straightforward, but it does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $375, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.
Please understand that you cannot meet the pups until you have been approved for adoption, and you cannot be considered for adoption until you have submitted a complete adoption application.
If, after you have submitted your application, you have any questions, please email us at info@safeatlast.net. We are happy to assist.
Thank you for your interest in our rescue babies & for helping us save shelter pets, one life at a time.
