Meet sweetheart Otis, who arrived just recently from KY - thanks to the help of many folks there and drivers along the way (including our former adopter Tim, pictured here, who graciously stepped in to help get Otis to his new life.)  

Otis just shines!!  He is a positively charming, lovely-tempered dog who gets along with everyone.  He loves people (adults and kids) and other dogs (from the very large Great Dane in his current foster home to the little pups with whom he visited when he arrived here from his long journey).  Otis is playful, but also easy-going & mellow.  He loved running and playing in the fenced yard here, but he is also great on the leash.  What else can we say but that Otis is truly a delighful young man!  And he is also UTD on his shots, neutered and heartworm negative.  So, he is all ready for his forever home.

Otis is a Mountain Cur mix, and we think there may be some Boxer and Lab in the mix.   Many people are not familiar with the Cur breed -- but Curs are notorious for having fabulous temperaments, and Otis is a tribute to that part of his heritage.  Even after his long journey from KY, this boy was still smiling when he arrived here, and he had plenty of kisses to go around for everyone.  His KY caretakers described Otis as "the best of the best."  And, that's precisely the type of family we are going to find for this boy.  Otis will make a fabulous family dog, and we are seeking a home where he will be valued as a family member and included in day-to-day activities.

If you would like to pursue Otis' adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  Then, after you receive your password on your email account, log back on to our website with your username and password to complete the online adoption application.  Once we have your application, we will contact you by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process.  Our process is very straightforward but does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $300 also applies.
