Tuscarora (aka “Aurora”) is a sweet, adorable and fun loving Lab mix puppy who loves to run and play outdoors or indoors.  (She has a couple little spots on her nose where she has played a little too hard and had boo boos!!)  She is cute as a button & a sweetheart.  She is also beautiful – although in the pictures, her coat appears to be totally black, it isn't.  She has shades of red and gold running through her coat (which is a short-medium in length) and is just gorgeous (inside and out).  Currently, Aurora weighs between 20 and 25 lbs, and our best assessment is that she will be medium in size when full grown.

Aurora gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes and ages and loves the attention of her humans.  Her foster mom tells us that she cannot say enough about Aurora’s wonderful personality.

If you have the time, willingness and ability to commit to Aurora – for her whole life – no matter what may lie ahead in yours, please register on www.safeatlast.net (click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage).  When you receive your password on your email account, then log back on to the website with your username and password to complete the online adoption application (click Forms/Applications on the left-hand side of our homepage).  Once we have your application, we will contact you by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process.  Our process is very straightforward but does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $375, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), also apply.

Aurora is being fostered in a private home; we do not have a centralized facility.  THEREFORE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CANNOT MEET HER UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR ADOPTION.  AND, YOU CANNOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  ALSO, APPROVED ADOPTERS ARE REQUIRED TO COME TO THE FOSTER HOME (IN SCHOHARIE COUNTY, NY) TO COMPLETE THE ADOPTION.  WE DO NOT DELIVER OR SHIP OUR RESCUE ANIMALS.
