Miloh
Hi Cindy ... Gunner as we named him is doing great. He still has not had an accident in the house and our 18 month old Granddaughter and him love each other as does the rest of the family . We are extremely happy and blessed to have him with us . And he seems to be very happy with his new family. Thanks again, John and Cindy and Gunner
Maxx
Hi Cindy,
Gaston (aka Maxx) is doing fine. He is at home behaving as a young puppy would. Mia and Gaston play all day long if left alone and they won't notice how tired they are. Mia issometimes a bit rough with him, but he's holding his own. He's quite sensitive and easy
to train, he already knows sit. He also hasn't had an accident and sleeps through the night. He is also very affectionate.
I don't think he is very submissive. That said, Mia and Gaston eat together out of the same food bowl, but since he needs different food, we need to separate them during feeding time. But the two of them are inseparable now.
There's is zero aggression between them.
Speaking of food, Gaston is a picky eater, he doesn't eat much and sometimes I need to feed him out of my hand. But he seems to be growing and looks and behaves like a healthy
puppy. The vet also didn't find anything wrong with him. After a few days he now feels at home and is quite naughty. He steals everything he can get his paws on and also started chewing. We have to watch him all the time. He doesn't spend much time in the
crate, only when he's tired or we can't watch him. After a few minutes of protest, he then sleeps. At night he's with us in our bedroom and we are already leaving the door to his crate open. Mia is keeping him busy. To be frank I sometimes don't know who is the
younger puppy, because often Mia instigates the play.
We have to sometimes call a time out for both since it is too much. But at the end the day, both have had their workout.
Overall, everything is as expected and Gaston seems to be an easy dog, in fact the easiest we ever had. He is doing very good. He will be a very lovely member of our family.
I attached a few photos of Gaston. I think he grew a little bit, but weightwise, I could not tell, since he is still around 22lbs.
Thanks for helping us adopt Gaston!

Miss Penny
Hi Sharon and Cindy,
It has been a week since we brought Penny home and I am writing to let you know you can go ahead and cash the check - we want to keep her. Sharon, she is everything we were looking for. You nailed it!
She has fit in easily to our lives. Thank you for everything!
Kim
Momma Dixie
Good morning Sharon,
Well, our girl has settled in quite nicely, seems like she's been here forever. Though she does appear to be part camel, only peed 4x since arriving, pooped 1x. This is good for me as I need the exercise, we are walking the perimeter of the yard MANY, MANY times a day. Bill did take her for a walk around the neighborhood yesterday while I did some groceries. She greeted some neighbors and their dogs very nicely, which was a pleasure as our last girl could not be trusted to always behave.
She has been quite respectful of our cat, Penny. Interested in her but giving her plenty of space. I'm sure they will be good buddies before we know it. As of yesterday evening, they were both lying about 5 feet apart on the carpet in front of the fire. That's a good sign for sure.
She's quite food motivated, so decreasing her kibble a bit to compensate for training treats throughout the day. She's very bright and I've no doubt that she will love learning new things. Will definitely be doing some basic training with her to get in the swing of things but I think she will have a lot of fun trying agility or perhaps a nose-work class. Does seem to have a great little nose on her, shows some promise there. I can assure you this...she is going to have a great life, we are totally in love with her already and are looking forward to all the adventures ahead!
I am attaching a copy of the Matching Gift Form from Stanley, Black & Decker. Since you are a 501(c)3 they will match my donation dollar for dollar! Glad I thought to look into that. Just have to fill out the bottom portion, attach the 501(c)3 certificate and mail to the address provided on form.
I'll be keeping you posted on her progress and again, thank you for taking her in, taking care of her pups and allowing me to adopt her. I'll forever be grateful to Safe at Last, but specifically you!
Alison
PS - You'll note in the picture that I found the chicken story so funny that I bought her a "Suspicious Chicken" of her own.
Momma Peaches
Sharon,
Thank you so much again for Miloh (which is what i have named Peaches). She is SUCH a perfect fit for our family. I cannot believe how perfect she is! She is getting along fine with Bella and the cats :) Every night so far myself, Miloh, and my cat Bailey have snuggled. It is so wonderful to have her around and I really cannot thank you enough for allowing me bring her into my family. I hope all is well! I will be bringing her to the vet next week for her appointment and they will tell me then when she can be spayed. I will keep you updated.
Thank you!
